Best damper/shock to pair with H&R progressive springs?
Best damper/shock to pair with H&R progressive springs?
Looking to replace my tokico's with something else. Which aftermarket damper do you guys recommend with the H&R Springs? Also, does anyone know the spring rate on these? Thanks.
theres no real way to find the rate on a progressive spring...
but the H&R stuff is pretty good, Its not race handeling or anything, but it will give you a good ride with good handeling. Any good shock will be fine. cant go wrong with the konis sport shock.

If you're looking to open track your car, the H&R springs will be fine. Depending on your level of driver skill and aggressiveness, decide on what spring rates best suit you. If you're a relative newbie, just use the standard kit spring rate and decide for yourself. Auto-x, do not get progressive springs. The quick transitions and tight turns in auto-x do not suit progressive springs; you're better off with linear springs ... ala Racing Beat and coilovers/coilover kits.
If you're just trying to improve the ride quality of the car, I would suggest going back to stock shocks. But, I've heard that a well-matched, stiffly sprung setup can be just as comfortable ride-wise. Many forum users have praised the JIC FLT-A2's ride quality ... then again, coilovers ain't cheap. I would recommend against the Koni Yellows, if ride quality is your goal. I have them and I think they're a bit rougher than the Tokico's.
