Adding a few lbs of unsprung is hardly going to negate the benefits of much bigger brakes, IMO.
The ST-40 calipers weighs 7 lbs and the rotors weigh 12 lbs. Stock calipers weigh 6 lbs and stock rotors weigh 15 lbs. So, the Stoptech saves you 2 lbs of unsprung weight per side.

My estimates apparently do not include the caliper adapter brackets but the rotor+hat should be pretty accurate. I think it's pretty safe to say that the Stoptech system doesn't weigh more than the stock braking system.
