Beating a dead horse about springs...

Is there really that much difference in all the different coil-over setups that are available. I apologize if that is a silly question, but I have only driven the stock touring and R1 cars) I am in the market for new springs and shocks, but I am seriously confused over the the strong opposing opinions that I keep hearing.

I found the following on Ebay:
93-96 Mazda RX-7 Eibach Pro Kit Springs currently going for $259 (Ebay item # 600026187)

This price does sound tempting. Should I just go ahead and get the Eibach Pro-Kit and choose a set of shocks? The car is just a fast street car, no autocrossing, very rarely street drags.

Appreciate anyones advice.

In your position you don't really need Coilovers. It would just be a waste of money you could spend on other mods. Coilovers are great for Auto-x and track events because you can lower and raise your car at will so you don't have to worry about scraping on speedbumps, curbs, etc... Also they allow you to cornerweight which isn't THAT important for a street-driven car. Getting the eiback pro kit, and good shocks will make your car handle drastically better for a much cheaper price than most coilovers.

Also, call the RX7 Store: (913) 254-9610. They'll get you the Eibach Pro-Kit for $255.

Thanks guys!

This board has been invaluable in gathering info about this car. I really appreciate it, and I will buy from the RX-7 store.
