Question BBS RG-R 17" preferred size?

OK, I've finally decided on the wheels I want: 17" BBS RG-R. However, I need help to decide which width/offset will look better with the tire sizes I want to run. Fenders are already rolled. Here's the options for front and rear.

FRONT: 235/40/17
17x8.0 40D or 17x8.5 37D

REAR: 275/35/17
17x9.0 42D or 17x9.5 38D

I've researched and know that they both will fit, but needed to know which will look better on the car, ie.. wheel tire fitment based on tire width and offset/lip size.

Any thoughts? suggestions? What sizes would you go with?

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

See if you can use the 9" +42 up front, and clear the brakes. run it w/ a 255/40/17. That's what I have in 18". If not, run the 8.5" +37. On that rim, run the 235/45/17, NOT the 235/40. 235/40 is too small.

In any case, get your front fenders rolled.

For the rear, run the 9.5 +38... but p.s., there's no such thing as a 275/35/17 anymore. You'll run the 275/40/17.

I have 235's now and I remember that 245 would rub the fender wells when turning. Do you have that problem? I might just stick with 235/45/17 and 8.5" +37

OK, 9.5" +38 on the rear. Could you also run 265 width on the 9.5" ? Or would the tire look too thin for the wheel?

I have the 18" RGR's, 9" +42 front w/ 255/35/18 and 10" +42 rear w/ 275/35/18's.

If you run a 235 front on a 17" wheel, it should be a 45 series. If you go up to 245 or 255, you've got to run the 40 series, which should be shorter. Don't get a 245/45 or 255/45. Mine will rub the liners at full lock, but honestly i've had virtually every possible combo of rims/sizes/tires on my car, and they all do that a little bit. Fact of life.

On the rear, sure, run a 265/40/17 on a 9.5" wheel if you want to. 245/40 front on an 8.5" wheel, and 265/40 rear on a 9.5" wheel will work out nicely.

Pro's and con's of running 18"X 7.5" RGR's with 235/40's front and 18"X10" 265/35's rear? Any idea of offset....or are the 7.5's front too small? I'm still looking at +42mm rear offset...but what about front..assuming I go with 7.5 inchers front? I checked Tire Rack and online they only advertise the 7.5" RGR diamond black up front....any other good source for these rims? Thanks in advance for the help!

Sorry....didn't see that the first time through, ptrhahn. Who carries the 8.5" or 9? Any reputable shops, off-hand?

Found the pics of your RG-R's....nice!
