bbs lm, what do you think of it on fd

i am looking into purchasing bbs lm's for my 94 fd. the size wheel i want is 17, is there anything performance related to bump up to 18's? what are the widest tires/wheels i can put on my fd in the 17 inch size? i am doing a search and find everyone doing a lot of different setups. i plan on using these wheels on the car everyday and my stock wheels for racing only.

if you have any info or direction (a link or something) i'll appreciate that too.

These have always been my first choice as well, but I have yet to come up with the scratch. I have two sets of stockers for street and race.

all this morning i've been calling around i never relized how expensive these whels are. but i made up my mind and these are the wheels i want. but the only thing disappointing is that they are telling me the i won't be able to get it in 17x8.5f and 17x10r. i am looking at tirerack.com and it says its available, whats the deal with that? i am calling tirerack up now to find out what there price is for the set.

do you guys think this is going to be a good set up for a daily driven wheel (the 17x8.5f and 17x10r)? i want to keep these on as my main wheel. as far as my suspension i have tein ha, no pillow ball mounts.

this is what is available:
http://wheelspecs.com/specs/WheelMod...eelModelID=927

any ideas where i can get what is needed to make this work and is it worth it?

You're limited by the wheel centerbore of 67 mm. According to your spread sheet, 8 x 18, 5 on 114.3, 40-mm offset will work. The other sizes will not work--either the bolt pattern's wrong, offsets are wrong, or centerbore is wrong.

IMO, there are other wheels that will give you as much or better performance than the BBS LM. The LMs are great wheels but because you're only limited to 8 x 18, you won't notice much performance benefit, save for more tactile steering feel, and crisper handling. Cornering stick will be worse than stock. Aesthetics will be improved no doubt.

For what you're going to pay for BBS LM, I'd look into Fikse FM-10s in size 9 x 17 all the way around with 44-mm offset. Tire size will be 255/40-17 (pick your favorite tire brand). I know this will work without rubbing.

Here's a pic of an FD Rx7 with Fikse FM-10s

BBS LMs would have cost you at least that much! With a $2500-budget, you're limited to SSR Comps or Volk Racing wheels...

hey rishie i think i made up my mind and i think the best wheel for the price i am trying to spend would be the volk gtc. can you give me a price on these:

17x9 all the way around in gunmetal with nitto tires 555.

and

18x8f no tires in gunmetal and 18x10r with 265/35 nitto 555.

forget about those advan sg2 i asked you before about. i think i like these better.
