So i just got some old vert rims, and i want the lip to be alot shinier. If i re polish the lip what would i need to use to keep it from pitting out again... because there is a finish over it that protects it.

 

There is a company called Eastwood that sells many automotive related products, including a clear coat finish for polished alum. They have a web site you can google. If I remember correctly they will send you a cataloge free. Great products and service for the diy'er (I have ordered from them many times).
