backspacing needed for corksport kit

this is for a second gen.what would be the backspacing needed for a 17x9 wheel using the corksport front widebody fenders. they make the car 30mm wider than stock on each side.

Well let's see, for a 8" wheel ideal is 35 - 38 IMO. So if we're adding another 0.5" to the backside of the wheel that would be about 12mm. We'll go with the low range; 35 - 12 = 23mm offset. Since you have 30mm of potential room, that should be the ideal offset. I'd say no higher than a 25mm offset.

Rishie

Those cobras should work well. However they will be too low of an offset for the rear. IMO. The lowest I go on a 9" is maybe a +30.

Do you have a link to those fenders? I haven't seen them on their site.

Thanks, rishie

it is a 17 x 10.5 +28mm offset. will that work? if that is too big will a 5/16" spacer fix the problem for the rear?

The problem in the rear is that you'll need a widebody kit back there as well. I'd say you'll need about another 30mm in the rear as well. ****, you'll be really close to the strut body in the rear with that offset. Any spacer will also need spacing added to the fender.

So if you do a 5mm spacer you better get 35mm more fender in the rear.
