ASA Wheels.. any good?

Im in the market for a new set of wheels for my FC. It is getting repainted black, so Im thinking Id like a set of black mesh wheels, with a polished lip. Now, usually I go for a higher-priced wheel. Ive had 2 sets of Volks ( GT-P and GT-U ), and I also recently had a set of Enkei RPM2s. These ASAs seems cheap, but Ive read they are licensed by BBS.. which Im thinking ( hoping? ) means they will be about just as good quality and light? Im looking at the AR1s, I emailed tirerack, hopefully they will have a size and offset that will work for my FC. Id like a 17x9 all around ( flared front fenders). Here is a link to the pictures on tirerack. What do you think? Also, any other recommendations for wheels of this style I could get for less than $1500/set?:

Sorry bud, but the lowest offfset ASA makes the AR1 in 9" depth is +35mm (according to their website..... )

going to be realy tricky to get that to fit up front, will have to run a spacer and/or 225 tire... but most people will tell you a 225 is to small for a 9 inch rim..... and 1/4 inch is the biggest spacer you can run here in good ol PA.

An 8" +35 would be much easier... but still tight on the inside..

Damn.. Thanks I tried looking for a website, but the only one I could find was in korean Yea a 17x9 + 35 wouldnt fit up front.. a 17x8 + 35 would, Ive run that in a few different wheels Ive had, but I would like to go 9s all around so I can fit 255s. I refuse to use spacers.. Oh well. guess Ill keep looking.

OK Dude... then here's what you need to look for if you want to run 255's all around and are NOT running coilovers....

Front... at MOST a 20mm offset... assuming 255/40/17's with a 10.3 mm section width, this will still clrear the struts by about 8mm or so BUT, you'll need about 35 mm of fender flare to cover the tires on the front.....

Rear... at MOST a 35MM offset... Guys run 9's and 255's all the time... search the second gen fitment thread, you'll find a lot of 9 inch rim and tire references

I am running JIC coilovers at the moment. Thanks though, Im very familiar with sizes and offsets needed, just wasnt sure what was available in these particular wheel. My past 3 sets of wheels were 17x8 front, and 17x9 rears, Id want to move to 17x9 all around now, make the car a bit more balanced.

those wheels don't look bad but rivets on a 1-piece wheel is like a 5" tip... why???

there are tons of choices for under $1500. you can get some 5zigens for about half that and they're light and come in fc sizes.

Rxmfn7,

Let us know answers from tirerack about the quality of ASA as it's licensed from BBS.

Well.. the guy I contacted at tirerack said that they are only available in 17x7, in a 38mm, or 40mm offset, and only available in silver. So that rules these out...
