anyway other then airtools to remove this?

well, i broght some used agx's and it came wit springs. And now I want to take it out and put on my rsr springs. But, the rear strut bolt seems to move along as i use a ratchet. Seems like the only way to get it loose is to hold the stud with a vise grip, but i wouldnt wanna strip the stud. So any other sujustion? heres a pic incase noone knows what im talkin about. The stud itself moves along as i twist that bolt.

ohh yea, eventhough the pics make it look like the stud has two flat spots, it only has one flat spot!

I've only used a air tool so I cant really comment on if hand tools will work good....HOWEVER, I did want to make sure you are using a spring compressor while doing this. You might already be but I just wanted to make sure because its VERY dangerous to remove that bolt if you dont have a spring compressor keeping the springs from expanding out. Without one they will uncompress and take your head off. You can put down a fully refundable deposit at Auto Zone and rent one for a weekend.

I know that doesnt answer your question but I just wanted to make sure you were doing this correctly.....which you very well might be.

Be safe,
Stephen

of course, i've always been using a spring compressor. Not sure how long autozone lets me borrow it for, but i've had it since thursday, and im done wit the front. just that this rear bolt is givin me a hard time, and i want to get this done already. hate it when my suspension is half assed.

Yep. Just run them by someplace like Midas. They'll knock it off for you and probably not charge you anything.

That's a nyloc nut on there doing the job it is designed to do, not loosen up. Since you are saving the strut insert you will need an impact wrench to get it off.
