Anyone run Axxis Unltimate pads?

How do you like them?

Also, does anyone have experience with the Ultimates versus Hawk HP+ pads?

They're quite popular with the Miata guys, but it's more of a street pad than the HP+, which should be better able to deal with track driving.

I'm using axxiss pads in the rear, no complaints. Then again all the stopping power is in the front..

axxis ultimates are good pads. i have noticed that they do take a tiny bit of heat to bite their hardest. still very streetable, and much less aggressive than hawk HP+ pads. I've had HP+s dig some pretty deep grooves in my rotors. the ultimates are very rotor friendly, and i haven't had any fade issues with them (autoxing or track driving, but i'll admit i'm not very hard on my brakes, something i need to work on).

Have Axxix Ultimates on two cars, bmw 540 and volvo 850 wagon. They are great. Have done some autocross with them and hold up to the heat quite well and are very streetable.

That said they are not a race pad like HP+. if you are going to be doing a lot of tracking get the HP+, they aren't as good for street use, but you'll love them on the track; they grip hard.

While your at it, put in stainless lines and some good (ATE or Heavy Duty) brake fluid. Makes a world of difference.

The Ultimates are a MUCH better street/auto-x pad than the HP+. They dust less, the dust is less corrosive, they are more linear, and they DON'T SQUEAL.

The HP+ is a scary pad at the track. They work great right up to the point where they stop working completely or glaze over (mine have done both!). Moral of story -- don't try to run a "combo" pad for track use, no matter who makes it.
