Anyone heard of Megan coilovers on an FD?

http://www.optionimports.com/meracokitmar.html

I have the same set on my MR2 and love it. I want the Tein Flex with EDFC but they are a bit too pricy for me. What does everyone think? Do you know of anyone who has the Megans on their FD?

If you want something inexpensive, I would check out the Tein SS or get the Ground Control coilovers matched with a good set of shocks (Koni or Tokico HTS).

Tein SS. Megan's always seem to be pass/fail. I've known some people that had them and liked them, and some other had them and hated them every second they were on the car. Same with KSports.

only take opinions from peope who have driven on megan coilovers. imo i would take mean coilovers over tein ss/ shock spring combo any day. they are great for any application. i have them and love them. its lke saying apexi coilovers are crap

My friend had them on his S13 for a season, after getting all sorts of "positive" recommendations from the Nissan boards. They rode like absolute **** on the street, and were still very prone to wheel hop exiting corners during auto-x... needless to say he has Konis and GCs (same rates as the Megans) now despite the howls from the "experts" about how inferior shock/spring setups are. It rides much better and makes the car much more balanced through the cones.

I don't think they are that cheap. One can get a set of Tein basics for less than the Megans.

I have the Megans on my MR2 and I like them which is why I asked. I am trying to get into the Tein Flex group buy but I haven't heard back from the person who is organizing it.

I will agree there is more wheel hop with the Megans than the Teins ( at least on the MR2's) I have never ridden in someones FD who had Megans or didn't even know they made them for the FD until a few days ago.

yeha the Tein Basic are cheaper but you dont get upper ball joint and their not fully adjustable but still better then the megan stuff. IF you what some thing that is good all around look at the flex.

Listen to Kyle, he knows what he's talking about. I plan on getting a set of tein ss soon.

I've crammed some pre-load into the springs on these with positive results.

You may want to consider just doing some springs on top of the stock shocks. The stock shocks work very well with Eibachs, Tein, H&R and other springs.

Stock shocks are blown. That is why I figured I would just go with some coilovers.

As far as "ride quality" goes my MR2 with the Megans gives a more comfortable ride than my CYM R1 with KYB shocks/R springs... but saying that is like comparing apples to oranges
