I see you are cali-based, so this wont be a problem for you... but..

K-sport, D2s and the last brand, the light blue ones... they are all the same coilover.
What we have seen here in the cold north(norway) is that they do no cope well with cold weather and salty roads. The dampers start to leak pretty fast...

just wanted to mention it..

i found the person who had them from rx8club, this is what he had to say about D2's.

Bse50

"No i'm not. Most of the cheap brands come from the same manufacturer. These are the same as d2\megans\whatever.
I had a set of d2 before, then switched to better stuff because:
4 shocks yielded 4 different dyno plots, both in compression and rebound.
4 shocks behaved different for each single click, some clicks didn't even register on the shock dyno.
The valving was shitty at best. The shocks collapsed as soon as the oil in them got warm thanks to crap springs, poor design and sticky tires.

All in all the stock shocks were better, more similar one to the other and less prone to letting you hit a wall because the car simply stops handling.

Cheap coilovers are just that, cheap."

I believe D2 coilovers are just re-badged megan coilovers. They aren't so cheap after you have to rebuild them a few times.

I have a set of HKS hypermax performers and Racing Gear coilovers that will walk all over previously mentioned coilovers - both at around $1100. Spend the extra money on a quality set of coilovers.

My budget is under 1k and I'm just gonna enjoy it in the streets, no racing at all. That's is why I'm looking for the most comfortable ride with a minimum bounce ride

For under 1k you may want to consider a shock/spring combo such as Koni's with Eibach. Otherwise keep your eye out for a used set of coilovers. Tein SS or something similar.

When it comes to something like suspension, tires, or brakes spend a few extra bucks for quailty.

^^+1

though, i mean.. if your just looking for controllable drop to stance out your car, just get tein basics, i wouldnt recommend them for tracking your car, or for superb adjustability, but if your just driving it around town its not bad at all.

Ive heard many good things about stance GR+ too, but thats over 1k, more like 1200-1400 and in that price range, might as well pick up pures hks coilovers, which are alot better than stance.
