Any experience with these wheels?

They are called RPMs made by Centerline. They are one piece, forged, and really lightweight. I saw an ad in some magazine that said an 18" was only 13.5lbs. (not sure about width, but I would assume maybe 8")

They come in Gold, White, Silver, and "Black Pearl".

Anyone have any experience with them? It seems a little too good to be true. They aren't exactly the best looking rims, but they are decent..and for that weight, I'm willing to sacrifice a little looks..

I was pretty excited when I saw the ad, too, but it turns out they are only available in pretty narrow widths.

It says the available sizes are 17x7, 18x7.5 and 19x7.5

Still, I hope it is an indicator that the "light wheel" market segment is strengthening. It seems like 40 lbs chrome wheels have had the popular spotlight for a while. I am sure that will continue, but a new line of forged wheels from a company with a good advertising budget should at least generate some excitement about lightweight, strong wheels. Hopefully that will result in more selection and better prices overall.

Yeah, the least expensive strong, lightweight wheels that you'll find for the FD with aggressive widths are the SSR Integral A2s in 9 x 17 with 45-mm offsets. They're on special at Tire Rack for $289 each. SSR is discontinuing the Integral A2, which is the reason for the great pricing. I have a set of 5 myself (full-size spare) with 255/40-17 Yokohama AVS Intermediates. The total weight with brand new tires mounted was 45-lbs each. Figure 27 lbs for the tire, that leaves 18 lbs for the SSR Intergral 9 x 17 wheel weight, which is in line with what Tire Rack advertises the IA2's weight as in this size--between 17 and 18 lbs.

Do a wheel search at Tire Rack's website to check their inventory on this size. Make sure you get the rear wheel fitments, as their front wheel fitment is 8 x 17 either 38-mm or 45-mm offset, with 235/45-17...which is a bit tall, and narrower. The 9 x 17, 45-mm work all the way around with 255/40-17 Yokohama AVS Is. If you're not sure about clearance get 245/40-17 Pirelli P-Zeros. These are slightly narrower and shorter than the 255/40-17 Yokos.
