am i the only one w/ this problem or what??
Aiight...I'm out to get a set of SSR GT3s, right? 18X8.5 in the fronts, and 18X10s in the rear. As for tires, I'm thinking 245/35 fronts and 285/30 rears.
It seems like everyone gets their GT3s from the Tire Rack, and they only offer them in a +37 offset for the 8.5s, and a +41 offset for the 10s in our bolt pattern. (I found that out after harrassing them w/ like 10 calls, since almost every time they didn't want to tell me anything about other offsets...they simply say "you don't wanna change the offset" or "sir do you know they will not fit?" etc)
But anyways...ok so if I'm bent on getting these rims, and those are the offsets the have, I'm thinking with any suspension modification, I'm prob gonna rub nice w/ the fender. I'm wondering if I can just get 5mm spacers all around, making the front +42, and the rears +46? Or maybe spacers of a diff amount for that matter (cuz I believe +48 all around seems to work very nicely)
Any suggesstions on that?

Reza's right, the problem is most cars come with lower offset wheels (more of a dish) than came with the FD. Accordingly, few wheel makers make wider wheels with high enough offsets to properly fit an FD, especially a lowered one.

So can someone tell me why we have IDIOTS giving "advice" at rim shops?? That's the suggesstion I had received from them.
Has anyone run rims w/ such offset? Cuz I don't plan on slamming my FD. The body kit I have on it is too damn low as it is, and that's w/ a stock R suspension. I'd like a very slight drop though, maybe 3/4" or somethin. You think the rims & tires could still fit if I rolled the fenders some? (hopefully not too much)

If you rolled the fenders, I don't think you would have any problems up front. It's not possible to only lower the car 1/2" to 3/4" with stiffer springs, unless you get coil-overs.

Again, cuz of the body kit, lowering isn't really my priority. You should see how bad it is driving around w/ the stock R suspension right now as it is.
I think I might take a chance on this...see if w/ those offsets, on the stock suspension, I might sqeeze 'em in. Hopefully little if none at all fender rolling will be necessary. That, and w/ the huge tires, hopefully the space between the tires and fender won't be as apparent
So you guys think it's worth takin the chance on? (ie...not too high risk, chances are it'll work out?) Or would ya recommend against it?
Oh and Rynberg..coil-overs = $$. Nothing can be done cheaply (ie not pocket-emptying) on this car, huh?
