Alternative big brake disks/kits

As I have multiple big brake calipers laying around (AP Racing CP5200 and Brembo GT 6 pots) I'm looking at brake disks..

Up first I wanted to look at OEM parts that ight work for the FD. Apart from Porsche disks (overal rather small) I've looked at 370Z disks (355mm), Lancer EVO (340mm) and recently I found out that the 2012+ Hyundai Genesis T has Brembo brakes (340mm)

So I figure that eithe OEM disks or aftermarket disks for these cars could work with the FD. Considering these cars all have the 5X114.3 bolt pattern.

Did anyone already use one of these and has pointers about fitmant issues?

I'm also looking at the 370Z rears

Will do thx. I hope I can get some 370Z brakes from a client and have a test fit how they work.

its not just the diameter to contend with, its the thickness of the rotor you want to use

I am using the Ronin Mandeville brake kit on my FC. It uses 350z Brembo rotors, they are 12.8 inches in diameter and 1.25 inches thick. I will be trying them out for the first time on the track in 2 weeks. The rotors fit well and allow more space for mounting an aftermarket caliper then the stock rotors. A great rotor size for 17 inch wheels.

The 370Z (or 350Z track kit) uses 355mmX32mm rotors up front.

Rears are also interesting to look at, but consifering the hand brake setup, it might not fit.

Ronin in front, super now in rear, on my FC.
Supernow give you option of spirt r or standard Fd rotors, i chose standard to allow more rotor choices and keeps stock Fc e-brake set up

Dont think any of this helps you with your FD but just mentioning since everyone is sharing their set ups

Link to the supernow kit? The only thing I'm finding is on RHDjapan and it's saying it allows for a 16 or 17 inch rotor from the FD. But, that makes no sense, why would you want 12 inch rotors in the front from the Ronin and 17 inch rotors in the back?

Or, is it just their Engrish that sucks and I'm totally reading that wrong on RHD?

Their Engrish sucks. That bracket will allow roughly a 1.5 to 2 inch larger rotor than the stock FC rear rotor. I don't know what rotor exactly though, but it sounds like they make 2 brackets. One for standard FD rotor and one for the 99 RZ larger rotor. They mean you need 16 or 17 inch wheels, which is probably accurate.

Yeah, there are 2 kits. One to use rear rotors from FDs with 16" wheels stock (including US spec) and the other one is to use the rotor from an RS/RZ that has 17" wheels stock.

one this to keep in mind... RS/RZ rotors are now like $150 each last time I checked from mazda usa...

Wow! That rotor looks huge behind that wheel, what size wheel? How well does the bigger setup work/feel on the track?

The description isnt accurate. As stated you can choose a kit with standard fd rotors or spriit rotors, which are closer to $200+ When i checked last year. 1" difference between them.
If you drive on the street like i do remember to grab an rx8 spare it fits perfect and even stores the same as stock

Supernow is same as attain kit which comes with the spirit r rotors but when ordering the attain kit with the rotors which means well over $100 in just shipping costs

The wheel is 17", but it has a stepped lip. The face was more common on 16" wheels.

This setup is the bee's knees in my experience. This and Hawk HP+ gave me all the stopping performance I could want/need for ~300hp and aggressive braking (120-40mph stops)

Looking to use some Girodisc rotors and more aggressive pads for my next setup.

Okay, so you saying Rx8 spare got me thinking as I was searching around RockAuto. Wouldn't an Rx8 front work instead of the 350z's? I know it's a tad thinner than the Brembo (30mm vs 24mm) and 1 mm smaller (324mm vs 323mm) but it's also thicker and larger than the FC stock (294mm and 20mm).

All info is coming from Centric as they supply all three with rotors and the thicknesses are all nominal measurements from them. The only think I see is that the 8 rotor is 4.2mm shallower than the 350z's but I figure just a shim under the caliper would fix it, if that, seeing how the 8 has a thinner disk.

if you want to make your own caliper spacers and spreaders you could make all kinds of rotors fit... but ronin already did that for the 350z rotor which is why everyone is using it....

whats the point in a 24mm rotor it still wont fit, engineering the spacer kit isnt as simple as it may sound just go with the kit that has been designed around the 30mm

on the other hand a FD uses 20mm 12" disk but im not sure how the offset of the disk would work and you still need to make a relocation bracket

I'm just looking around for something a little easier/cheaper to find than rear RZ rotors, and hopefully/potentially drop in. Can you really blame me? I know most of what I said was for fronts but, it's just an idea I started from.
