ALSO Does my 88fc Gxl have anti lock brakes?

ALSO Does my 88fc Gxl have anti lock brakes?

One day comeing home i allmost got hit bye a car! i slammed on the breaks so hard! the car stopped kinda fast but hell i can never get the Breaks to lock up ever!" not like im complaining". i never see an anti lock brake light or nothing or is there a nother cheaper anti lock system that isnt computerized?

When the ABS hits, you will feel pulses in the brake pedal, or simply you'll feel the lock/unlock from the tires in the seat of your pants. ABS is not very smooth.

I don't think your GXL has ABS. I'm not sure it was offered on the GXL. I don't think it was, but I could be wrong. You can always look under the hood for an ABS unit. They are pretty big, have lots of hard brake lines going to them, and tend to be located ont he passenger side of the engine compartment, inside the fender near the firewall.

More likely is that your current brake setup is incapable of locking the tires. You might have low friction pads that just fade when they heat up.
