http://www.familycar.com/alignment.htm has some basic explanations. If you draw a line through the upper and lower ball joints, or upper spring perch and lower ball joint on a McPherson strut, the difference between where that line hits the ground and the center of the tire is the scrub radius. Where this line hits the ground is the point that the weight of the car is actually being applied. In short if you move this point too far away from the center of the tire bad things happen

what is the offset of your wheels? stock is 40, the lower offset you have, the more leverage bumps have on the steering wheel, and removing the power steering didn't help that.

try putting the stock wheels on and see if the straight line tracking gets better.

good info here. I would also check the toe settings. toe out will cause the car to wander when driving straight. also, sluggish response can be related to tire pressure, higher increases response and lowers grip (at least thats the trend).

Unless something is physically wrong with your suspension, caster should be fine as caster is typically not adjustable, at least not stock.

car didnt come stock with factory wheels..off set is 30 front 30 rear....also i read that when installing coilovers you should have 1" of preload...so thats where i set mine when i installed them...now im reading that you should just tighten the spring perches untill the spring is snug and not run preload on a street car...would me running that much preload cause problems...also my car is kinda bouncy im thinking this is due to the preload??

an inch of preload shouldnt have any noticable effect on your car, but you're best off just setting the perches so they're snug. bounciness probably = cheap coilovers. lemme guess, they were under 1k?

y do i need expensive coilovers when i dont track my car?? and i set the preload to zero and no more bouncing
