Aftermarket Suspension needed for 18x12 with a 18+ offset?

I was wondering if aftermarket suspension peices are going to be needed to fit 18x12 with a 18+ offset on the rear of a FD? Fitting looks pretty close but some of you experts miht have an better answer.

Thanks

Are you running widebody fenders or something? If not, that wheel won't even be close to fitting under the fenders.

You shouldn't have to do anything to the suspension for an 18x12 +18 offset. The inside of the wheel will only be 18mm further in than stock, my 18x9.5 +45 wheels are almost 24mm further in than stock and have zero clearance issues.

Yeah i'm having the pettit flares put on, it just seems that everything is running very close. I have the rim mounted without a tire just so see how the spaceing is and if i run my hand along the along the side of the rims i hit a few things. The toes links, my finger skims that but i can't fit past the rear sway bar mounts. Maybe since i've never looked at stock rims mounted without tires it worries me. But i trust what your telling me

well nvm i just remebered that the shock is "unloaded" right now so the lip of teh inside of teh rim will go up about at least 2 or 3 inches and not have any problems. Thanks for everyones help.

You won't need aftermarket suspension. It will only depend on the height of the tire. The only problem you would have is the tire rubbing the bottom of lower spring perch on an OEM style shock.

I've done this before: on Les Wong's car. Check it out:
THe fitment is good. We're actually going +9 on ours. The volks we were getting before were a +12.

This was an 11.5 +0 offset.

FYI, we run 18x10 +50 on the FD. To have the same backspacing in a 12" wheel you're going to move the offset out an inch, 25mm approx. So that's a +25. You're sitting at a +18 indicating less backspacing.

Hope this was helpful.
