adjusting tokiko's

I have tokiko's on my car, was not previously aware of that...anyways, I understand that they are 5-way adjustable, my only problem is, is 1 soft or hard? and how do I tell when it's set to 1 as opposed to 5? help?

i have tokico's.
I set to 5(hard) in front and 3(medium) in rear.
I am assuming you have this in combination with Eibach?

1 is soft, 5 is hard.

There is a red cap that attached to the threaded struts.
And in the middle of the threaded struts, you have plastic in arrow like shape.
The end of arrow points to middle of the number selected. So if its on 3, then it points to middle of 3, not in between 2/3 or 3/4

Is there a specific direction I can only turn them? Like should I only turn it clockwise? Or should I turn them CCW? Or it doesn't matter which way?
