ABS Motor Runs Continuosly

This past weekend I was at an event an noticed after turning off the FD between runs that the ABS motor was running continuously. I tried turning ignition power on/off a few times, pulled power to the battery, reconnected and put the fuse back, same problem.

Not knowing what the consequences of that may have been, I just pulled the ABS fuse and raced without it.

This morning I unloaded the car, got it in the garage. When I put the ABS fuse in the motor was no longer running - started the car and the ABS light went out as normal.

Any thoughts on what may have caused this? I don't know the low level details of how the ABS works, just the basics.

When does the motor normally start running? Knowing that would probably help with the troubleshooting.

As this is 99% a track only car anyway (mostly autox), I may just remove the ABS - I found that I had to use some braking technique without the ABS - jumping on the brake obviously didn't work too well.

The ABS is most useful though when racing in the rain.

I can't be the only one here that has experienced this.

ummm its hard to say it could be as simple as a fuse or relay or a bad control module/and or motor. The motor should only run for a few seconds when discharged

I'm leaning more towards a bad control module

Happen to me last year. Pull the two fuse/relays that are in the abs module and replace them. Went to napa and they cross referenced them cheap. Haven't had a problem since. Our cars are approaching 20 years old and probably the relay is sticking.
