Unhappy 84 GSL-SE Upgrading Suspension from Stock

I currently have a stock 84 GSL-SE. I'm looking for ideas on "beefing up" my suspension. My -SE will be used only on the road... but I'm looking to turn it into a "Sleeper". I want it to look like is does now... but more power and better handling. I'm tired of getting killed by these stock Mustangs and Firebirds. They are out performing me on the handling and speed at the same time. Trust me... it's not the driver. It's the car. I have even "waxed" my own car while driving a friends Mustang. Very sad... Please... help me turn my 7 around... and make it proud. Thanks in advance.

for the street i really like the racing beat springs. they are VERY well balanced and not too stiff. do you just want the car for street? drag? autox? track? what other mods do you have? for a better drag car, go with exhaust first, then intake. for handling, find some nice adjustable shocks. i've had very good results on the street and autox with tokico illuminas. i hear the koni yellows are good too. it all depends how stiff you want the suspension, how much you want to spend, and what you want it for.
