Question 4pot calipers in the rear on an fc?

i have a 90 gtu. all right i've looked all around but i can only find caliper kits for the front and i don't want to upset the brake balance by only getting new front calipers. is the only way to get bigger calipers in the back is to have someone fab them? yikes.

Okay, why you want to do this?

For looks???
Then it's a waste of money...

For performance?
You're looking at the wrong place to upgrade.

Please read the Brakes thread floating somewhere - in the Archives?
It'll explain to you why what you're trying to do is not a good idea.

BTW, you own a base model.
Upgrading the rears without doing the fronts is just...crazy?

No need for 4 pots in the rear.

Most and almost all of your braking is the done in the front wheels.

Just get 4 pots on the front, upgrade your brake pads and brake fluid, and if you want braided brake lines and you should be good to go.

You'll lose your ebrake, fyi. lol.

Listen to the guys above please. There is a reason why you don't find rear kits. If you want front and rear brakes you'll need to get a car that uses a drum ebrake mechanism.

Not to mention you will create brake bias issues and so forth. It could be done but you would lose your ebrake and also need to get a proportioning valve to balance the bias out again. At that point it is simply for looks like RE mentioned.

I have upgraded my front and have simply left the rear. Upgrade your rotors, lines, and pads and call it a day.

I'll jump on the bandwagon and add one more thing. The 5 lug vented rear rotor is much more than even most race cars need. The vented rear rotors run so cool the factory fitted plain organic pads as even semi-metalic pads aren't needed. Swap in competely rebuilt 5 lug brakes and you should be a happy man.
