235/40 will be about a 1/2 inch smaller diameter than stock, stick with 245/40.

Tirerack is (wisely) conservative in their wheel+tire widths they specify as ok.

 

Yeah, that's what I got from the calculations I did. I guess I was really just curious if the 235/40's would fit in the front. I'd like to go with 245/40s in the rear.

You need new toe links, and possibly some other bushings, but start with toe links. M2 has been making them for a while and that's what I have on my car. I saw the Battle Version ones that K2RD.com sells at SevenStock and they looked really nice.

I take it the service manual outlines the procedure for diagnosing bearings/toe link problems so I'll spare you guys from that question, at least for now.

I've decided to go with the Yoko AVS ES 100s. Help me choose the sizes. I'd like to go with a staggered setup but am not all against the same size all around.

225/45 17, fits 7-8.5 wheels, 25.1" od
235/40 17, fits 8-9.5 wheels, 24.5" od
235/45 17, fits 7.5-9 wheels, 25.4" od
245/40 17, fits 8-9.5 wheels, 24.7" od

Again, wheels are 17x18 with +35mm offset. Any opinions before I get off of work today would be highly appreciated.

245/40 all around would be my choice. They are the widest and are the closest to stock diameter.

I've run 245/40/17 on all corners on 17x8 SSRS. Very nice setup that allows rotation and looks great on a lowered car. Since you have the same size wheels F/R you might as well benefit from the rotatable setup.

I had to go 235/45 275/40 on wider wheels due to horsepower improvements.

People make way too much out of maintaining the stock diameter... I'd just be careful not to go much smaller than stock, or much taller in the front than in the rear. SO, if you MUST stagger, try 225/45 front, 245/40 rear, not the 235/245 combo
