245/50-16

Has anyone had any luck running 245/50 on the rear of a FC? Does it help handling or should i just stay with the 225/50's. If i go to 245's i'll still have 225's in front, will this create over/under steer? Thanks, Chris

i just got some Nitto drag 245/50/16. they work fine. the handling part, i havent push the car or any auto crossing, but i havent noticed it handling badly. then again i got them to go in a strait like. i have 245 in the back and 205 in the front, and all is well.

I'm running '87-88 T2 rims all the way around and have 205/45/16's up front and Nitto 245/50/16's out back. No rubbing out back but a couple times I can see that the tires lightly brushed the fender lip. Didn't cut the tire.... but you can see that something brushed it. After washing the car and tire the mark was gone. So no clearance problems present IMO. This is with some serious drifting and smoky donuts so the suspension was at its limit.

Straightline traction is great and handling is good with the Nitto DR's. They need a heavy tire smokin' burnout to really hook though and pressure set at 17-18psi with tires hot. I have gotten 1.71 60ft times from them and gone high 11's. They are a great street tire for the street in a high HP car.

If you are more handling oriented the 245 will fit.... just choose a different manufacturer/style. The car will push the front first due to the extra traction out back.... but if you have the power to induce oversteer then this would be perfect. Most of the autocrossers run 225's all the way around I believe.
