Im planning on getting some work cr kais on my fc and i was worried that 17x9 could be hard to fit with the federal 595 rsr tires seeing as they run a bit wide. I have found 215/40r17 to be a size that is readily available, but i dont know how safe it would be. I dont drift the car (in dry weather) and i dont do a whole LOT of aggressive cornering. Like i said these tires do run wide, and that is part of the reason im thinking of doing 215s instead of the 235s.
What im trying to get at is will they even fit on my fc in that size with the 215 or 235? And how safe is it to run a slightly wider 215 with a profile of 40 on a 9 wide wheel?

Don't be dumb. Buy tires that fit.

Get the 235s, the car will look and handle better with them.

We have a guy here running 225/45/17 on 17x9 wheels on the front of an FC. He did have to do some rolling (good amount).

They fit fine if you get the right wheel. 17x9+24, 235/40/17, rolled front fenders

For best non "R" tires for the street on 17X9 are Yokohama ADVAN AD08 255/40-17 tires
which I run on a FD.

Two questions. How are they in wet weather? And how do they compare to 595 rsr in cost?

The 595 rsr are going to be the lowest treadwear for the price. Yokohamas are pretty expensive.

Any extreme summer tire is not going to be the best in the wet.
