205 tires on fb

Hello all, I do see that many people fit 205 series tires on their fb wheels. I am looking to get a little more detail as to if they will clear the stock strut and springs. I would be getting 205 race rubber like Toyo r888 or Hoosiers. There seems to be so little clearance even with 185 rubber. Any experience is greatly appreciate. Thankyou!

the limited edition and GSL-SE both came with a 205 stock, so it can be done. although since hoosiers run wide, it might be better in a 195

I've run 215s on stock rims on my '85 GS. I run 225 Hankook race rubber on 13x8 wheels, but that's with coilovers now although I'm pretty sure they'd fit on stock suspension too with the correct wheel offset etc.

I fit the 205/60r13 Toyo r888s on and they just fit on the stock wheels with stock suspension. I will check them after some driving and racing for strut rub when they flex. Thankyou for all the help

The Stock SE size 205/60-14's are almost impossible to find anymore. I've only found one Chinese Brand.

As a note. I have been very happy with the r888s. They are a very durable race tire

Lol @ tires lasting a while! I stopped trying to get good tires in either 13 or 14 inch sizes years ago. Hell, even 15's are getting shoved out of the market. Only thing saving us on that is that the NSx came with 205/50/15's stock on the front, and those guys cry louder than we do ....
