I'm shooting for the end of the week to start the order process, may add a few days as that I've been getting a few PMs as people find out about this.

A preview can be seen over at the nopistons forum, in the GB section. Posts over there will be limited to just the rotors part of the GB after tonight - at the wishes of the the admins over there. I am respecting their wishes (like I have a choice hehe), and am grateful to them for allowing the rotor portion to continue there. Caliper GB details (and the rotors too, of course) will be posted on this forum shortly.

I've got a couple questions to ask you about the brakes as installed, check your PMs a little later - thanks!

Daniel,
Got another question: once this GB gets under way what kind of turn-around time are we talking about.
Place order - wait 2 weeks for rotors to be made - receive parts 3 weeks after placing order....wait another 2 weeks for calipers to come in from Japan? Or will parts be available/in stock ready to ship when the GB officially commences? I have a track event Sept 20/21 and I'd really like to have parts installed by then.
Regards,
Crispy

Does this price include all hardware/brackets needed for installation, except for the brake lines?

Honestly Crisp, I would not count on having them in time for your late September event. Sorry about that. For Precision, they are indicating 1 month from GB closing to shipment, and Jason says that getting the calipers in will depend on the order making which ever shipment Mazda has coming in. What we have not figured out already is how many of these calipers they have in Japan, so it's really anybody's guess - could be a matter of just a few weeks, could be longer. With everything that I've experience so far, I'm not willing to make any kind of predictions, so these dates are just goals.

93 R1: The parts involved include, for the front:

- caliper for each side
- hard brake lines
- pads
- pin. pad retainer
- splash plate for either side

The front caliper is $280 per side, and we're not sure what the cost for the hard lines are. Reading on some things SleepR1 posted, it appears you might be able to reuse the hardlines that are your car now.

The pads are the same as the '93 -'95 now, so you can opt to either reuse your pads (if they are good obviously), or p/u the Hawk HPS pads for $39 for the front set and/or $39 for the rear set. I'll see what kind of prices he can do for other compunds/brands.

The pad retainer pin is about $3.

The front splash plate is about $25/side, but I will likely just modify my current plate by triming away the edge. I was planning on making a hose duct that runs to it anyways.

In other words, you only need to buy what you want/need. I will go over other posts again to double check that everything needed is listed.

The rear brakes consist of the caliper, the brake pads, and the splash plate, and the same thought applies to them as well.

I will start the official GB thread tomorrow.
