JunpoweR, i saw that car on craigslist one time, and have it saved on my comp. such a disgrace to 7's. and the white one is a show/drift car.

I'm sure if it was raised up a bit you could drive on most roads, but, that's beside the point. the kid never said anything about doing autoX, time attack, drift or even driving the car, he didn't say, "without stretching tires" or "with stock body panels" or any of that crap, he simply asked if 20" would fit, and the answer is yes. If you don't like the fit, fine, whatever. Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't.

If you took a poll of all the people here, I'm sure 99.99+% drive their cars, and 99+% have stock fenders, so it's pretty dumb to assume that a widebody non-driven "fittment" is useful information for someone.

My point is that you have no idea what this kid wants to do with his car or how he's willing to modify, maybe he thinks along the same lines I think and that you should get the size you want and MAKE them fit. Maybe he wants to keep his car 100% stock looking and won't even roll the fenders. Maybe the car will sit on the floor at HIN(whatever they have out there) for 98% of it's life, or maybe it'll be bombing down a track, who knows. You know about has much as I do, which is very little from the information he posted. So rather than go off with a hypothesis based on a style prejudice and say they flat out won't fit, I posted a pic of them fitting, so it's obvious that you can make them fit. Didn't Haraguchi drift on 19s at some point?

You're completely missing the point, being able to bolt them on doesn't mean they fit. Fine, it might "work" for a show car, but they're so few and far between that posting something like that could very well be very bad for the OP when he buys something similiar and discovers that it doesn't really work on the street.

I'm not sure you're bothering to read my posts, but I've already addressed the issues you're talking about.

What I think it really comes down to, is that you and others don't like the style, so you're just looking for ways to put it down. It's obvious that the FC in the pictures is dropped for maximum visual impact, but with these newfangled adjustable suspensions the kids are using these days, I'm sure you can raise it up a shade and make it drivable(just because the car was at a show who says it wasn't drivable anyway?). The wide body doesn't really matter either, as I'm sure with a different width and offset such modification wouldn't be needed, and that the wheels were most likely picked to match the aero, not the other way around.

Any reputable wheel distributor will take returns if the wheels don't fit, and if you buy locally you would be able to see right then and there if something isn't going to work, and the business will work with you to select a different size that will fit, because they want your money.

and again, you nor I have any clue WTF this person uses their car for, or what their taste or idea of fit is. Maybe that picture inspired him to run down to the local wheel seller and try some 20s on, or maybe he threw up in his mouth a little and sold his RX-7, who knows? Either way, a picture is worth a thousand words, and that's more than, "it's stupid".

Yeah, you're totally right. It's completely presumptious to think that actually being able to drive the car or retain ANY degree of functionality or performance it was designed for is a qualification for "fit"ment.

The fender is between the rim and the tire, there's no way in hell that'd work other than maybe rolling it around at a show being really, really careful not to turn too much or to compress the suspension at all. Besides, the slightest change of angle or ripple in the pavement would contact the body kit.

It's fun to look at IMO.
I would roll 20" wheel on my show car but for the track it's 16-18 in wheels all the way.

So you're saying that you'd be able to drive that on the street exactly like that without damage? I think not. When you came back either it would have taken an hour to get around the block because you were going so slow and carefully, or the body work would be wrecked from hitting the pavement and hitting the wheels.

I don't know about you, but I live in the real world of speed bumps, steep angled driveways and parking lot entrances, potholes, frost heaves and such things that'd destroy that car's body work. If (within reason, ie going to work) you have to worry about how and where you drive the car to avoid damaging it then it's not streetable.

the wheel mite notch the fender at lock, and the kit might scrape, but sure you could drive it, not over a speedbump, but still.

Lol, you guys are so picky. The thread is about wether 20 inch wheels can fit on an FC, and the answer is yes. Thats it. They may take some work, or not. But the answer is yes.

So you admit that to drive the car will do damage to it and you still seem to be saying that this is streetable? Come on, that's rediculous.

Sure you could fit some 20's, and that's not what I've been saying, but with the car set up as pictured it's not really drivable, so therefore they really don't fit in that case.

There we go, no body damage. No matter how nice a car might otherwise be, body damage on a car draws the eye and seriously detracts from the overall looks. No matter what your tastes are, I'm pretty sure that anyone would say that body damage is ugly.
