What do I think? I think it looks like complete garbage, and it's a shame that people with tastes like yours buy an FD In the first place.

Maybe it's because a streeported rotary with bolt ons can make great power with an 8000 rpm redline, 'normal-sized' wheels, and retaining the rotary that can last for 100,000+ miles (assuming the owner isn't completely incompetent)?

You certainly don't build your cars like other people. No one else has such poor taste to run huge wheels for such bad reasons. Here's to being original above everything else

Your choice of form over function isn't that uncommon.

Low quality wheels of that size weigh a ton. This excessive amount of rotational mass robs both power and braking ability. It's like trying to do suicides with 10lb weights on your ankles. You like the wheels, that is fine. I hope you like them enough to decrease performance in your FD, because that is what they are doing.

Just ask my friend with 20" Foose wheels on his Mustang. His car makes 474whp with an Edelbrock blower. His wheels weigh 27lbs each. It's rediculous. He is easily giving up 50whp to push those turds around. Sure they look good on said car, but a quality rim is needed.

If you like the look then at least go with a quality wheel that will reduce weight. Though quality wheels in larger sizes are extremely expensive, it's the sole reason most people don't buy them. They buy brand X. I paid more for my 18x10" Work Meisters than my daily driven mint FC, but they are 17lbs each and are flawless craftsmanship.

Wow I didn't think you were being serious in your original post. This is sad. That poor FD.

As far as wheels feeling different when just driving, you couldn't be further from the truth. I bet even stock wheels would feel better than what you have now.

It seems like you're desire to be different is really strong. I suggest you try swapping a miata engine in your car. I don't think anyone has done or will ever do that.

Also, you're very welcome.

Hey Pal....I knew you were going to get bad responses once I saw your question! I put 19's on mine and took alot of crap. They said the car looked ATROCIOUS!!! Do what you want, it is your car. But my opinion is that the LOOK of those wheels don't fit the car.

Well, you asked for opinions....

I will say, it's definitely not my cup of tea but not the first time someone put 20's on an FD. It would definitely help the car out to add some ground effects to the car to balance out the wheels. However, in hindsight you probably should had split the difference on the engine mounting and just dealt with using a different/new hood to avoid the engine sitting too low.

I like a 20" on the back and 19" up front. As far as the choice it is definitely not my preference. However that is individual to you. You have to agree they don't match the sport styling of the car.

hope you have a ton of money.. 20 in Works will cost you a small fortune...

if I spend money on nice wheels... i'll be using them for what they were built for to perform.. otherwise you might as well buy them and put them in your china cabinent...

You dont want to be like anyone else? But you did exactly that with your SC/Soarer?
514hp for a car that easily weighs 1000lbs more than a FD? I dunno how valid that argument is.

Buy a 240sx for you to bastardize. Leave the traditionalists with their RX-7 alone.

Well either your dyslexic or you failed at math bc my SC300 tips the scales at 3500lbs + plus dry.
It's even longer than my 4000 lb E Class, so 2900lbs doesn't..........matter in a RX7 forum
HAHAHAHA

I certainly don't think they look atrocious, infact they look great
Though I personally would never go bigger than an 18inch wheel on an FD.
As for the thread starter I think those particular wheels look like cheap plastic & your FD deserves a better set of shoes.

But don't let anyone stop you if you have your mind set on running 20's on your FD no matter how negatively they impact the cars performance, if you want a show car with huge wheels to each his own I say

Because you have 101 whopping posts?
Unlike you i have my full interior

And you've got great taste as evidenced by your pics, makes wish I had **** for brains.
Typical 1JZ Mindset. All the same throughout the country.
If it's broke throw a 2JZ in it.
