1st Gen. wheel alternatives
1st Gen. wheel alternatives
After scouring the internet to see if anyone had some ideas as to some wheel options other than the stock 13" 4x110's, I found some info on one of the foreign sites. A guy had stated that he ran 4x108 rims and has done so for years with no problems. No drilling or alteration needed.
Well we just happened to have a set of old T-bird rims that are 14" 4x108. Unbolted the stock and bolted on the 4x108's without a problem. Now these were lug-centric so beware. The center bore was larger than stock. Anyway, that was kind of exciting. The t-bird rims had about 40mm of offset, a bit too much for my taste as the back of the rim was pretty close to the Strut. So it looks like something in the 30-35mm offset would be perfect.
Now this opens a lot more possibilities.
Just wanted to pass that along.
