18x8.5 +30 fit for an FD?

Got a chance for a killer deal on an extra set of wheels - any luck with this offset?

Re-Amemiya AW-7 recommended set.
F:8.5 +42
R:9.5 +41

I might be wrong, but that width and off-set are pretty correct.

Because the offset is way too low and the tire will catch the fender lips, not to mention have a negative effect on the suspension.

but its only 11mm differance from that posted recomended offset, you can just roll the fenders and should clear.

I think it is pretty funny when people ask for advice and don't like the answer they get...

S13Slide...please get them and roll your fender, I am curious to see how they fit

8.5" wheel = 9.5" nominal width from bead to bead.

9.5" / 2 = 4.75" (centerline)

30mm / 25.4 = 1.18" (offset)

4.75" + 1.18" = 5.93" (back spacing)

9.5" - 5.93" = 3.57" (front spacing)

Maximum front spacing in the front = 3.5"

3.57" > 3.5"

= THEY DON'T FIT.

The posted offset isn't THE recommended offset. It's always best to get wheels with the same offset as stock, which is +50. Very few cars run offsets that high, so you get what you can fit, which is typically +40 offset from Japanese wheel makers.

"only" 11 mm (12 mm actually) is a 1/2". That's a huge distance in wheel fitting.

I,m running 18x8.5 (BBS-RGR's) with +36 offset at the front & standard ride height - no problems so far. Will shortly be fitting a set of coilovers and dropping the ride height by about 1". I'll be checking for front fender catch very carefully when I do that.
One question, when running my finger round the fender lip there seems to be a "production" rolling of the lip from about 11:00 o'clock to 1:00 o'clock - Anybody else notice that ?

On a Turbo II... or do you have an FD you haven't listed in your profile?

My profile is wrong (for some reason I've suddenly been assigned a new name/location). I'm running an FD (yr 2000) in Japan
