17x7.5 45mm offset FC?

http://www.machiii.net/wheels/rota_subzero.html

hey guys i was wondering if theses wheels would fit good on and fc. i was looking at the 17x7.5 with a 45mm offset. i wanted to run a 235/40/17 if it is possibe without rubing? or if it would rub what could i do to get it not to rub? would it be to close to springs or fenders?

Probably not going to work in the front. That's going to come in towards the spring 17.7mm further than stock 7" wide +40mm offset wheels. If it did work in the front, it'd only be with very narrow tires.

7.5" wide +35mm offset would be much better.

is that because of the rim or tire? if rim do you know of any other cheap 17x7.5 or 17x8 rims? which would have that offset

I'm only recommending lightweight inexpensive wheel options for you:

Cheap staggered wheel would be the 5Zigen FN01RC, prob around $800.00 shipped w/o hardware and club discounts.

You can get Team Dynamics Pro Race 1 in 17x8 +35,
$800.00 shipped.

ADR Kasai is available in 17x8 +35, I have a buddy who was doing a special on them in April for $600.00 shipped.

Those are all the good width and offset options that aren't too heavy for wheels.

Peace.

PM me if you need more info. I'll see what else i can think of.

On the 7.5" width, I wouldn't recommend a 235/40/17. You should stick with a 225/45/17. But if you do the 8" width you'll be set and run the 235/40/17.

I think 17x7.5 +45 with 225/45's might work in the front.

If you look at this guy, https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=303267 hes got 17x8.5's +34 after the spacers, and it fits.

Now go to http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html and do the calculations.

You'll come up with:

17x8.5 +34 going to 17x7.5+45

The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 2mm MORE
The outside edge of the wheel will RETRACT in towards the body by 24mm

Then thers this guy too (2nd Post):

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ghlight=offset

Running 17x8 +40 in the front changing to 17x7.5 +45 comes up with

The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 1mm MORE
The outside edge of the wheel will RETRACT in towards the body by 11mm

Either way you should go do some measurements and see if you can go that close to the strut and how much more it would stick out with less offset.

Interesting.

The Icemark says:

a 45MM offset will stick in too close to the suspension using a 7.5" wheel.

To use a 7.5 inch wheel you would want a 35mm offset at the very least (and probably really prefer a 30mm).
