17x8.5 17x9 on FC

Got these rims off Neofreak. Took 1/4" spacers in the front and 2.5" wheel studs to make em fit. the the backs fit fine.

The front has 235/45/17s and the back 255/40/17s...

I slapped these 95 3 double spoke'd mustang rims on mine, to see how it would sit with 17's. The tires are 245/45 all around. I found out they don't fit very well on the front. A little bit of inner fender lost, but it was worth the insight. These new perellis rip it up a shitload compared to my bbs rims with 225 goodyears on the back.

Dont fatter tires make you slower? IM not being an ***, just asking. I thought they killed ur top speed and acceleration.

Krazy - its either 40 or 42.... i dont remember.. :-)

Dez - yeah, it basically killed my acceleration, thats why i said i needed more mods. I really wanted better traction in the rain (and obviously to look damn good), which the difference is huge (for both). The roads down here in SC suck ballz, so i was spinning all over the place with the 205s...

Dont really feel like hydroplaning off the road either...

Um. You are wrong sir. You would be better off with a 205 in the rain than a 255. Want proof? Take a pencil, point down, and drop it into some water. Sinks. Same pencil, drop it long-ways (so that it has more contact area) and it will stop on the water, and may or may not sink afterwards. A wider tire takes longer to get the water out from under it because it has to move the water further.

Good luck.

You also have to take in consideration the tires that i had on in the first place. Which were not the best in the world.

I moved to RE750s which have a killer rain rating.. The tires displace MUCH more water than my old tires. Which in my case, made the car much more stable in the rain...

What you say makes sense though...

Thinner tires are better for snow/dirt/gravel/large amounts of water. You want the tire to cut through these road surfaces, not ride above them...this is why rally cars use skinnies in really foul conditions.

+40 offset... You might want to get 7.5s in the front if you dont want to use spacers..

thanks!
