17 fronts and 18 rears?

So is this going to be any problem running this setup?

I dont really understand why you would want to put smaller rims on the front than the back though. In my opinion, 18's on the front and back would look better than 17's on the front and 18's on the back. It might look good at a glance, but if you took time and looked out it, it would probly look a little funny.

I'm going with 17 front/18 rear. I think on first glance it won't be noticeable. It will probably look pretty good with the correct tire sizes.

The NSX has 17/18 setup.

Will this mess up any kind of a suspension setup?

17fr/18rr FD SSR IA2 Pics

Here are the pics 7racer was referring to, for the lazy dunces that didn't get 7racer's post the first time

Amazing! It's really tough to tell. I wonder what tire sizes were used? Maintaining sidewall height to rim diameter is key to having that visual effect of no real difference between 17/18. Although the rear doesn't look jacked up either?

Compare the 17/18 fr/rr to my car in my sig below with 17 x 9s all around with 255/40-17 street tires.

Perhaps the subtle wedge shape of FD gives off that effect of 17 fr/18 rr working well?

it creates the illusion that the wheels are all the same size when you look from a front quarter view so it evens out. All same size wheels would make the rear look smaller.

I actually like the look of this if you plan on running larger rear tires. Too many times I see 17 inch wheels all around and the rear one always looks smaller when people run 234-245/40/17 in front and 275/40/17 in the rear. I might just do this.

If I can keep the sidewall heights similar without causing rubbing issues I will probabaly go this way.

Try 9 x 17 with 255/40-17 front; and 10 x 18 with 285/35-18 rear. Sidewall height nearly the same--~4 inches for the front and rear

Should 41 offset front and a 49 offset rear work with this setup? I am also running H&R springs and have not rolled the fenders.

Should the 285/35/18 be ok height wise? Looks like they are 1 inch taller than stock.

That's the point of it. You need to maintain the tire sidewall height the same, or else the 17 fr/18 rr will look odd...

I meant will the 285/35/18 fit with a 10x18 +49 and H&R springs.

It looks like most that run 285/18s use 30 instead of 35 so I am just double checking.

The extra height will change your gearing a little bit but will help in the appearance with this setup. It shouldn't be a problem in the rear with that extra height...but it will be close.

FWIW, I am doing the same thing except going 275/35 in the rear on 9.5x18s with +45 offset.
