Super AFC S-AFC saving settings?

S-AFC saving settings?
I think this was a 1st gen S-AFC with the blue screen VFD.
Customer car trying to track a nasty hesitation problem.
For some reason the S-AFC kept resetting back to it's "old" settings, which leaned almost everything down to -30%. :P
The only way I got it to "remember" was to go through the "Initialization" function.
Is this correct???
I thought once you changed it, it was set in flash PROM and no need to tell the S-AFC to remember it!
This was a pretty frustrating experience. :P
Previously, my only direct experience was with the first Super AFC before all the fancy blue screens.
