Old School S-AFC...

I have an old school S-AFC that someone on the board sold me. It's the kind with the ***** that ya push to pop out then change the settings 2% at a time.

He told me it was already set for an FC and that he had used it on his, but upgraded or some crap. Anyways...

I took a look at the manual and there's no setting for FC's in the manual. Also under Mazda it has a * that says Air Flow Meter Can Not Correspond Flap Type

For some reason, to me, that means that it won't work with an FC? Only available settings are for FD's. Now the way the AFC is set, it doesn't match any of the vehicles on the list.

Current settings are...

Car Select: 6
Type Select(0=up, 1=down): 10111010

got the manual from http://www.apexi-usa.com/pdfInstallation/4.pdf

I ALWAYS search first, because of dick heads like you. Lets see, what the **** did I come up with?

Oh yea... how to wire in an SAFC I or and SAFC II.... the digital read out kind. That are setup through the digital interface. Holy ****, wait, that's not the kind I have.

So I continue looking around and I find... Two more threads on the same kind of S-AFC that I have. Oh ****, ya know what? They didn't have their questions answered either. One of them got it to work, but never put his write-up on the thread.

But alas, I went out and got it to work anyways. So, go **** yourself slpin. The moderators and community members wish to thank you for your waste of space and wasted post.

The settings in my first post do work with the FC. For those of you doing a SEARCH and coming upon this thread.

It could be because the FC uses a mass air flow system to measure intake air and the stock meter is rated at a certain CFM which it cannot exceed once maxed out.

The FD system however uses a "speed density" system which is measured by the map sensor based on vacuum (demand, load).

This maybe why your having difficultys making setting changes with the unit.

Hope this helps you out.

It's working. I only need it for leaning things out, not for adding fuel. Thanks though.
