Question How do I tune a SAFC correctly and Saftly??

I have a 91 coupe running with CAI, RB headers, RB Presilencer, and CS Catback. After readig up on some threads about SAFC, i was thinking of getting one myself.
Is there any set ratios/settings for a N/A to run more HP and MPG? Or does it vary from car to car??

Is it better to tune it myself w/ a wideband a/f gauge?

or should i bring it to a dyno?

you will need someone with a wideband, for proper tuning. Not necessarily a dyno, but definatly a wideband. Im not sure on the proper a/f ratio you will want to use though.

If you get a Wideband kit that data logs you can takea few runs and look over the data and find out where you need to tune. I would only go to the dyno after you have tuned your engine on your own and have decided to find out the perfect AFR for power.

The cheapest wideband I have seen and the one I will get is from Zeitronix.

You will save so much money tuning it your self untill you can afford to go to the dyno for a few pulls. After installing the wideband it will pay for its self in 2-3 hours of using it. Since most dynos are 100-150$ per hour.

ok, I'm pretty much at the same point as this guy...I have an 88tII that I'm getting the motor street ported right now. It'll have a true cai, full 3" rb exhaust, and pushing 10 psi boost. I have an safc (with the 4 buttoms and blue screen). My question is, what are the basic parameters that need to be set. Is there a write up that is rotary specific? I will have an innovate wideband and gauge hooked up as well for the actual tuning, but I'd like to know if there are basic things that need to be set/programmed before you actually start adding/subtracting fuel.
