concidering s-afc

I was concidering a s-afc for my 87 na and was wondering how hard it is to tune and and setup. i read the other threads about them and saw they are very easy to install but said nothing about tuning. i have slight mods: K&N intake, full borla exhaust, new oem injectors rebuilt motor

yes, install is easy, but unless you have tuned anything before, it will get kinda confusing. you will need a wideband if you want to tune it yourself. or if your not planing to do any more mods, have it tunned by a profesional (they'll tune it almost perfectly). remember, its not worth it to get it tunned by a profesional for like $200 for your current mods, then you get some other performance parts, you may have to tune it again. so that depends on you, and any future mods.

^^if your planning on other mods get the tunning done LAST! theres no point on getting it tunned by a prof. now and then you get other mods, then having to take it to be tunned again<<thats a waist of money....unless you buy a wideband, learn to tune it urself, then you can tune it whenever you want.

Ooof. Depending on what you want to do, tuning it isn't *that* hard. I have mine decently dialed in just from the narrow band O2 sensor's voltage output. Slightly lean of stoich at cruise (O2 disconnected from the ECU), and slightly rich of stoich at WOT. Eventually I'll throw a wideband on, but for a NA, you can do it with the narrowband if you want.

It's a NA. You really can't hurt the motor easily.
