Great job , pay no mind to the negative people , 8 seconds is a great accomplishment. What port are you running ?, a friend of mine , al ocal racer , runs a fully tubed out car with fiber glass and aluminum panels , 9" diff , Jerico box and everything else thats needed for a to run mid 7 second passes , and he cant seem to get past 9.2 in the quarter , he makes close to 500RWHP on a street ported motor using a TA 45 / 51 @ 22 psi. I am trying to get him to go with a fully bridged of peripheral ported motor , what ya think ??.

The intake ports are pretty much stock Cosmo ports. I just radiused the closing edge and backcut the opening. Then took off some of the rough casting( They wouldn't look ported if you look down in them.) This was all done on the secondaries. Primaries are untouched. It runs FD housings with a descent size port. Nothing huge. I would say( without ever seeing the car or setup) either your friends car is a little heavier than ours or you need to dial in what you have better. Meaning, go over the ports make sure they are good (not just big) and make sure the motor build is good. I know these things sound simple but you would be suprised the difference it can make. I get tons of these little old cars that come in trying to reach X time and when we open it up the build is just slapped together.(horrible clearences) It sounds like he has the right sized turbo he is just not making the power. There are plenty of guys on a good dialed in motor running a 42R sized turbo putting out about 600hp around 24lbs on a street port.

A short wheelbase, under 100in probably closer to 90in, and being very light doing 8sec in the quarter mile will be scary. I don't care what anyone says that's hauling *** and that is a scary ride! Yes you have other Starlets running 7's and over 170mph, La Atravieda/ Anais/ Ileana/ La Sarita and others that run faster but this car looks to be coming along pretty well. Hell my friends laugh at me and tell me my car will not go straight down the track it's a Datsun 1200 w/ PT74GTS turbo on a 13brew running on stock leafsprings. Yeah they are probably right that it won't go straight but I'll have fun trying to keep it going straight. It's not fun unless your going sideways and I'm not into drifting. LOL. Maybe one day I'll be able to afford that 4link setup.

You don't necessarily need a four link. See how fast you can go without There are RX3's running 8.90s with the leaf springs and untubbed. Your right though only a fool wouldn't be somewhat scared while going that fast in that little a car.

Yeah that is my goal to go as fast as I can on the leafsprings and when it becomes unmanageable then I will look into having a different setup. Great little car you guys have there and continued good luck with it. Let the times keep dropping.

hey congrats on the time! i dont cruise these sections often but i am truly impressed. i see starlets at the track from time to time and they are always SO LOUD and it so annoying cause they never too run very fast. I am glad to see that one of those light cars actually did something worthwhile. congrats.

Loud, LOL, I know what you mean. There are a lot of loud little cars that you think are gonna fly then do a 13sec pass.

You should run the car on that show PINKS. Nobody would guess that car would be that fast.....and you could probably get a free camaro or mustang out of it.
