This section of the south forum used to be flooded with talk amongst the dfw group...did everybody move away or sell their rx7's?? This forum is boring now...

wow...turbo II now huh. Last time I saw you it was an 89-91 black GTU or GXL or something along those lines.
I got married and joined the army. Both of those take a lot of my time. I have to report to Fort Benning GA in a week and was hoping that there would be a meet or something so I could see the old crew one last time. I sold all my 7's and broke down and bought a new car that gets 40 mpg. I just couldn't afford to put 60 dollars of gas in my car and only get about 200 miles out of it. I'll get back into a rx7 one of these days, but when I have a little bit more money to throw into it. For now I'm trying to talk my wife into letting me get a r6(almost there).
Hey Kris, good luck with the Army, I almost joined the Marines earlier this year, but backed out... I only wanted to do it so I could become a cop when I got out...but now i'm working for collin county s.o. as a jailer. They will be sending me to school to get my certification soon though. Then I'll start on as a deputy..hopefully.

Hollywood and I were talking about this last week. Trying to figure out who of the DFW Drunks was still in the area. Unfortunately, from the group of 20+ rx7's, we could count on one hand which of them still haunt this DFW. I still can't believe how we all drank/raced 5 nights of the week and didn't get tired of it all.
Little info on me ... I blew my motor over-revving one insignificant night racing some unknown kid. Still ran ok afterwards, but I jumped on the opportunity to get a crazy engine built. Was even more stoked when the shop said it'd be done in a month. The feeling faded over the 6 months of waiting. I had all but forgot about the car when it was finished. So I broke it in over a few months, stripped all the parts, put new rubber on it and sold it. (the kid blew it a month later doing what i warned him about)
Paid off all the debt and went back to school pursuing a degree in medicine. Went a year without anything fast, broke down and bought a scooter-cycle last october. It's more fun than any car i've had to date, but the heat does put a damper on riding. Looking forward to cooler weather.
I did see a lot of the DFW Drunks at Eric's wedding, of course I don't have a fraction of the tolerance I did but I still tried!
Anywho ... that's the short short version. I'm still a rotary fan but gas prices and reason keep me away for now.
If any of the old drunkards want to get together, send hollywood or I a pm. We still get together and drink ... just not crazy like.

I actually stopped drinking...haha. I'd be down for hanging out though.
For those that don't know, a little info on myself:
I had a 93' rx7 for about 8 months and had to sell it to a friend of mine due to no job. my friend actually had a 10th ae and we 'trade" plus cash of coarse. I had the 10th ae for about 2 years then got a good job and bought back my original 93' from my friend. had it for 6 months and it went up in flames due to an electrical fire. I have an 02' honda civic coupe now that gets me from point a to b fine with good gas milage. I'm saving for another 3rd gen though...

Work in New York City, live in Brooklyn. Have a company car with a free gas card, so don't drive the rx's much. Both the FD and convertible FC run great, in the process of sourcing a dual ball bearing twin turbo setup for the 3rd Gen

We do miss you Rich.
Anyway.... I was never part of the group here(too old) but it has gotten a little slow on the south forum these days. Congrats to all of you young guys getting married and so forth. On the plus side you'll come up for air in 20 years or so.

Man we had some fun! If anyone is getting together, I'd love to join in!
I miss the days of cafe RPM, food was not so bad. the place was BYOB and eric always had a cooler of beer. the airport cruises we did after cafe rpm, were by far the most fun I have ever had on a cruise.
