I live in Austin, and am coming up on 60k miles with a '93 FD. I'd also like to get the 5th gear synchro done, and am wondering if anyone out there can recommend a good shop in the area. (I'm willing to drive a bit for a good place.)

Yeah, I found a thread that was years old, but I'll keep searching. Thanks for the shop and contact names: Being somewhat new to the area, I haven't let anyone touch the car yet, and I'm always nervous to go someplace without a recommendation.

Only shop in our immediate area worth a flip with rotaries is JC AutoSpec as already mentioned, some people have had luck with MZM, some have had bad luck with them and pro-tech, there seems to be a lot of confusion and noise around those 2 shops so I tend to stay away from them. John at JC will hook you up, outside of Austin I would say Gotham or Alamo Rotary in San Antonio might be worth a shot. good luck.
