Tour To The Tombstones

TOUR TO THE TOMBSTONES

You’re invited to join us for the next Texas Region SCCA Road Rally on December 5. We will tour Collin, Fannin and Grayson Counties, and visit a number of cemeteries. Course following will be easy. All roads are paved, except some short sections leading to and inside cemeteries.

Rally Day is Saturday, December 5. Registration opens at 8:00 am at Pat Lobb Toyota/Scion of McKinney, 3350 S Central Expwy, McKinney, TX 75070. First car starts at 9:31 am. The finish will be at Mariachi’s Restaurant in Sherman.

You will be directed to a number of area cemeteries. At each you will record the cemetery name(s) and answer questions from signs or tombstones. We also ask questions for you to answer as you drive between cemeteries.

Any 4-wheel street legal vehicle with two people old enough to read can enter. No prior rally experience necessary. There is a First-Timer's class, so some of the newbies will win a trophy.

Go to msreg.com/TTT15msr to preregister now.

Two Mazdas entered our last rally, coming in first and second overall.

When did you last visit a pub? Not too long ago, I'll bet. Same for barbeque. But how often do you visit your nearest cemetery? Well, here's your chance to make up for that lack! Actually, it won't be your local burial ground you will visit, but a bunch of others that you never heard of. Come try it, it's interesting and fun.

Well, yeah, but you don't visit an old cemetery to see dead people, but to see what the live ones did to the graves to call attention to the memory of the dead people, and in some cases educate or amuse the visitor.

Entries are coming in for the Tour To The Tombstones. Mini, Mazda 3, Miata, Mustang, and others not starting with M.

If you missed the charity rally in September, and you wanted to donate children's books to Scottish Rite Hospital, just bring them to the Tour. I will make a delivery run just after the rally, and lots of children will thank you.

Come on out!

Three Mazdas are now entered, so there will be a team competition between Team Mazda and Team Mustang.

Have you noticed how low gas prices are? Perfect time for a drive in the country.
