They might try to get you for modified exhaust but, (I think) I believe that if your car is out of state and from somwhere where there aren't any emissions testing then they can't give you a ticket for failed emissions. But generally, I haven't noticed them say anything in Dallas or Houston when I was out there.

Hell, I'm in CA with my car registered in TX. Hopefully they can't ticket me for failed emissions.

Keep the car registered in Florida. Dallas and Houston have strict emmisions laws but no where near that of cali. florida registration is nice as there are no stickers on the window for either instpection or registration, not so here in texas my friend.

Be careful about positng the names of people who help you violate state or federal laws. It's a good way to recieve a subpeona. I'm not saying I haven't had help with my emmisions, but admitting it out in the open like this attracts unwanted attention.

Smile emissions out or your state

Most states will not trouble you with emmissions , but if you are to loud they can give you a ticket for noise disturbance. it falls under noise same as a radio that is to loud.

This should help clear up any thoughts on stickers and other states, currently, if your car is in any state all lights , horn wipers , tires ect. must work. you will be cited for improper equipment if its not working and in plain sight of the officer, as for emmissions, you must be with in your state requirements if any.

If ( your car is loud and noisy it will not matter where your from most citys, have noise abatement laws thats were they ticket you.) the only other exception for emmisssions is
if it sends out alot of smoke (da common sence) they can cite you under bad equipment or
faulty equipment.

So in short if you meet your state requirements your ok, if your in any state other than the
one the car is registered for more than 30 days they can consider you a resident and cite you for not transfering your tags and geting the car inspected in their state, (exceptions to this rule is active duty military and retired persons visiting and having a legal resident in another state, be ready to prove it if challanged on resident status if you try to say your retired and look very young.
