Hey guys and gals. I need to ask a huge favor if you're in the Houston (Tomball, specifically) area.

Here's a little history,

I saw a FS post by TravisFC saying he had a 'non running' S5 swap from his FC. I inquired about it and after many PM's and texts I decided to buy it from him. I mailed Travis Dubois a check for $900 about two months ago. He cashed my check, and basically I haven't heard back from him since.

Now, I have a good friend who's a judges magistrate a few counties over. He looked up his public info. His shop (currently called statusworks autogarage) has 12+ small claims cases against it currently. It has changed names several times in the past few years because of things like this. Basically, he's got a giant record and I'm probably not the first person he's dicked over like this.


Here's the really shitty part - My wedding is in June. All I wanted to do was drive my new wife away in a brave blue FC like I used to drive her around in when we started dating. That's what the motor I paid him for would be going into.



So here's what I'm asking from you. If you live in the area, can you stop by 11244 Timber Tech ave? I'm not asking for an angry mob of people to lynch him or any other violent act. What he did is wrong. I'm just trying to see if there's anyone who could stop by, maybe see if they can get his number so I can call him or even get the money yourself. And yes, there will be a cut in it for you too. As long as I get cash into my pocket (or similar) then you get a slice of it as well. PM me and we can talk.

I appreciate it. I know that he rents a large shop w 5 rooms on it. That's where he and some friends live and work. There are some other private shops either w the same address or in the same garage.

 

Someone like that isnt going to just hand over money to some stranger that shows up saying he owes some other guy money. Short of putting a gun in this guys face he's not going to do anything positive in response to someone demanding money. And a phone call from you will probably get you nowhere. If he's done it a dozen times before what's preventing him from just hanging up the phone and ignoring your phone call?

Having been through small claims for an amount well over twice what you're out I can honestly say you will probably never see a single dime. It sucks but, in Texas at least, the law is on his side - not yours. Maybe use paypal next time with a much shorter time frame for parts to arrive.

Again, Im not trying to be a dick, but Ive gone through the whole legal process of trying to get money from someone who was completely in the wrong and I did nothing but waste my own time and more of my own money to get absolutely nothing in return. Either chalk it up to a lesson learned or drive down here and confront him yourself. If you choose the latter I'll be glad to drive the 10mins up 249 to meet you and him and make sure nothing crazy goes down.
