Are you volunteering to organize the event?
I asked about 10 people at the last meeting and most complained about gas prices
Only one big problem if you want to do a scenic drive north or northwest of Houston (where the good twisties roads are) is that Ren Faire is going on now until the 2nd weekend in Nov. That means that there is quite a bit more traffic in the area than usual. Any drives done are going to have to be on different routes that we would normally traverse unless you want to encounter some serious traffic tie-ups. I have the master route plans for a awesome drive NorthEast of Houston, however I am unsure as to the condition of the roads since Rita tore-*** through there just about a month ago. Someone might need to go scout out the roads first.

1488 is going to be stacked.
Anything going to Plantersville from I45 is a parking lot. 105/1488/even 362 on the other side of Tomball/Plantersville to a lesser extent. it isnt bad during the midday.. but all the po-pos are out in full force in surrounding counties and areas to catch people driving into and out of the event.
There are some roads past Huntsville and some that are East of Livingston..but most are too far for most of the normal caravanners.

I thought it would be cool to have a detail day. Where we could all get together at someone's house, help wash each others cars (it goes much faster the more people you have), hang out, and have a few drinks (maybe watch the stros play in the world series). The only problem is that we need someones place that is fairly close to everyone and willing to part with the water. I know a guy in a Mustang group and they had 7 or 8 guys that came down from the Austin/San Antonio area to do it. Sounds kinda cool!!!
