A stickied rotary shops listing?(good idea?)
Just to help the new owners and such in the southern forums, why don't we have a listing of all the shops in all of the southern states. There have been quite a few people looking for shops lately. Yall can maybe even mention a few rotary places all owners should avoid at all costs.
For the DFW Area(the only place I know of shops anyway):
Gotham Racing in Forth Worth http://www.gothamracing.com/
BDC in Grand Prairie http://www.bdcmotorsports.com/
Rotary Performance in Garland http://www.rx7.com/
Marvel Speed in Rowlett http://www.marvelspeed.com/
Rotary Innovations (Also a great place to get almost any rx-7 part you need) in Arlington http://www.revvinsevens.com/

Hey Keith, thats not a bad idea. We seem to get several inquiries a month about shops that can work on this or that. Maybe if we had a list up top that would curtail many of the same questions and re-posts.
There used to be one... but a certain fan base for a couple of shops in the D/FW area refused to stop bumping their "favorite" shop and tended to drown out all other possible competition.
The thread wound up turning into good guy/bad guy thread and much name calling and childish behaviour ensued.
Maybe people have grown up since then and we can all live in peace and harmony. [insert big laugh here]
The trick to doing the thread correctly is that the RX7club.com cannot explicitly recommend or drive business away from a particular business. That's why the Gabriel thread never ever got stickied as much as I might have wanted to.

Hey Keith, I think we are asking for a list of shops, not a voting section. I was thinking it could be a sticky thread that was closed once you posted it. You could just list all the known shops in the south area with a section entitled do not use. The only issue I could see is someone complaining that you put their shop on the do not use list.
Hey, everyone has their opinons but that's not what this sticky would be for. It would be an information sticky only, that you could edit when any newer shops were opened and label them as such and/or add shops that were left off. I guess you could just leave off any known screw ups HHMMM *Gabriel Gonzales* HHMMM

noted, when I talk to Ryan or another admin I will see what the options are.
FWIW on the Houston site there is a section for the same purpose, maybe some of you local guys can help populate that as well.

From my pov (i.e., noob), I would both appreciate and use a stickied listing. I would also appreciate good guy/bad guy feedback (but if that's been a problem in the past, then I'll take what I can get from the other strings people have posted on this topic).
