http://www.texasscca.org/ lists all the Texas Region SCCA activities. There are a bunch of RX-7 and Miata road racers around and the local autox clubs are very large.

Our next Club Racing event here is in May. It is both a regional and national race, meaning for you that the Spec RX7's and the 7's that run in ITA will be running on Friday. In the national races you can see the EP RX-7's, and we should have a few in GT-3 as well. The RX-8 runs in T-3 I believe. Check the divisional website http://www.sowdivscca.org/ when it gets closer to May for the detail schedule of when the groups run. In the meantime if you want to make the trip to TWS in Febuary that's coming up as well.

There's also a big Regional race in March at TWS. Should be a good sized turnout since entries will be the cheapest of any race around here all year. Lots o' track time, too.

If you're interested in Spec7 you should meander over to www.txspec7.org -- we're a tightknit group and always willing to answer questions. Probably 80% of our racers are in the DFW area so if you want to check out cars, sit in them, or buy them, you're in the right part of Texas to do that easily.

I'll be there in the ITA car.

Spec7 is no doubt the best bang for the buck wheel to wheel racing there is.

It gets kind of complicated in the SCCA ranks. 2nd gen runs in ITS, and EP not sure of where else it is allowed. (I think that's it) There is also a catch all class called ITE here in Texas. That is almost a run what you brung class.
3rd gen can run ITE or GT1 or GT2. These(GT1 & GT2) are not tub based cars they are tube frame cars in 3rd gen fiberglass. They do have to run the rotary engine. I attached a picture of a 3rd gen GT1 car taken this year at the Runoffs. This is a badass car but from what I understand the PP motor just won't make enough power to complete with the big cubic inch guys. Close, but won't run in the front.
