SCCA 6 Hour Enduro -- 11/18-19
SCCA 6 Hour Enduro -- 11/18-19
The annual SCCA 6-hour rolls into MSR-Houston in a few weeks. Regional races, Enduro practice and qualifying on Saturday and then The Big Race on Sunday.
If you're hardcore enough about it, its fun to watch. But time passes by a lot quicker if you're on a crew or driving! We'll be out there with at least one car, possible two (and it might even be two SRX7's!) so if anybody in the area stops by be sure to give us a hollar.

I think it would be a lot of fun to be able to race in one of these. Maybe in the next few years I'll be able to start competing.
Is there an age limit? or Certain qualifications that you have to have?

Yeah its SCCA cars, I think just Spec Miata, SRX7, ITA-S, and Spec Racer Ford. Maybe Showroom Stock/Touring as well, I can't remember.
I'm still lookin' for some rich guys that wanna run around and do some 12-13 hour races and pay me to bring the car.

Well I've got all the suspension pretty much back on my car -- most of it shiney! Gettin' more excited by the day... and I just picked up a (borrowed) remote camera setup, so we should have some sweet video to look at post-race.
The 7 can't loose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1one
I'm going for the championship this year, so I'm aiming to run every SCCA event in the process. Finished 3rd last year with 5 of 9 races, I figure if I do all of them this year even if I dont finish well I've got a shot.

Jeez, what a weekend. It'll take me a few days to get the writeup done (whenever they post results on mylaps so I can merge happenings with lap numbers).
But lets just say I need:
1 - rear hatch
1 - right rear quarter panel NOT in the shape of a Miata left front nose
1 - right tailight assy
1 - right rear shock (probably bent on impact, possibly with a number of other rearend pieces)
12 - hours of sleep a night for the next week

Managed 2nd in class in the enduro... out of 2. Led for the better part of the first stint and a little into the second stint until the thermostat stuck closed, despite being punted off the track 5 or 6 laps in by a pair of Miata's.

I found you a Rear Hatch, But it is in a Few Thousand pieces in turn 8 and 9. IT WAS EVERWHERE
Yeah, thats what I heard. When my codriver came in for the rear shock (before I looked under the car) I said, "well the hatch came off like 20 laps ago..." to which he replied, "oh ****, that glass... is from me?"
I have a feeling the hit from the Miata torqued the rear and had some part in the hatch coming loose. Also, the passenger side hinge is gone, so I'm thinking that came loose, the thing caught air, and ripped it off. But I dunno, did anybody hear anything from a corner worker? I imagine it was pretty spectacular.

The corners missed it, don't know how, but they did. I was out there Monday for the Champ car testing, and it took them quite a while to clean up the glass. I guess there was some fresh glass over off of T3 as well.
I've got pictures of my car once we got back to the Clampett Racing shop (really Taylor Rotorsports) up on our site:

The dent's already most of the way out -- I may run it like it is until it gets written up, unless there's not much going on around here and I decide to bust out the spatula's and body filler!
