You won't find Indy cars or anythig like that there. It is a place where many driving events/schools are held.

FWIW, MSR is adding 1.4 miles. Some info below.
"Dear MotorSport Ranch Member:The second track is under full construction. It is approximately 1.4 miles in length, has about 65 feet of elevation changes, and only banked or flat turns (no off-camber this time). This second track can stand alone or the two tracks can be combined together to make one of the longest road courses in North America (approximately 3.2 miles). Even the pit roads can be connected to form a much longer pit road when the tracks are combined. The road course has been cut and much dirt is being moved in order to handle the water drainage - including the culverts under the track. Paving is expected to begin late next month or early September. The paving will require curing time before cars can run on the track, but we are planning to be operational by Thanksgiving."

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
I heard the cuts where it meets the "old" track are pretty gnarly if you go off.
Of course, if you go off there, you've got bigger problems than two big trenches.
EDIT: While we're on the subject of MSR... I went by the Houston location Saturday. It's in the middle of BFE, according to the GPS due West of Galveston, in the middle of a damn rice paddy. Hopefully the mosquitos aren't bigger than the Mexican Eagles.

Regular is $2400 one time, $75 monthly, $20 per 30 minute session. Personally, I completely fail to see what the point of it is, but I don't have money flying out of my ***.
Executive is $12,000 one time, $50 monthly and $15 per 30 minute session.

Sittin out at the ranch right now, waiting on O-rings to put this Noble back together (mumble-mumble, tight workspace, no tech-support having *****, Mumble).
Those 2 trenches off of Wagonwheel are just about te right size to swallow a Spec car....
oh- and Taylor, those fees are to keep the common people like us from crowding the place and making it hard for the guys with $$ (read posers) to look fast

i can see the initial fee and monthly's, but the $20 for 30 min. thats just not right, and is that per member or membeship? and if its per membership, can more than one person be on a membership.

Would now be a good time to mention that the D/FW RX-7 club is having a Focus Day (read as us tailgating on the back of a member day) on Sept 3. From the point of the club it's a way to get you guys more involved in motorsports type activites without spending attrocious amounts of cash (yet). I don't have all the details of what you need, what to expect, etc. but those that have done several of these can fill in the gaps until I can get this info posted on the club site.
