NOLA Lakefront Meet **2**

I'm just gonna quote from the 8 board:

We are having another Sunday meet/cookout at the Lakefront in New Orleans. This should give peeps about 2 months to make plans. As of now, there are no other events scheduled for the 6th so that’s what was picked. If you have any suggestions, let me know.

Bring your own food and drinks. This is a chance to meet some of the locals and check out the rides. Please leave the drama, racing, burnouts, and hatin’ at home. Meet will be in the parking lot across the street from Landry’s on the Lakefront.

Same format as last year. Open to anyone who cares to attend. So put the word out…. *updates as we get closer*

*** I know a bunch of you RX-X peeps stepped out with the Z crew through Monique last year and we had a great turn out! We are going to try and continue this event annually, so pass the word!

Cya there!

-Will
I look forward to meeting up with some of the friends i met last year. We had a wonderful RX turn out last year and I hope we can do the same this year.

Thanks, guys!!!!

Glad to see so many responses to this thread. We need to think of somewhere kewl to meet. If Monique plans on showing up, make sure the meeting place is near a daiquiri shop. ;p

Well, Fox and Hound made for a good meeting place (lots of open parking), but I didn't dig the food. And, yes, we should coordinate the migration to the Lakefront better.

We did bennigans(sp?) last year and they had pretty good food and lots of parking. But maybe we can add a poll of resturants and vote on it.

I didn't know there was another pre-meet get together last year. Which bennigans? Across from Lowe's on Vets?

Meh...let's just have a few people agree and then coordinate everyone else. I can do either Fox & Hound or Bennigans. There's a daiquiri shop near the Bennigans on Veterans, so that should be acceptible to Monique. ;p

Wink Convoys...

Hey John- I think Art meant their trek from MS.

You're right though, last year our group was broken up because some people left F & H before others we finished paying their check, etc. It would have been much better if we'd have all left together, I was a little disappointed in that. Esp since Will, the guy hosting the event, had a section reserved for us so that us rotaries could all park together. This year he'll do the same, but we should stick together and I'll need a "car count" as the date nears. If possible, NOLA & Gulf Coast should meet up together and all roll together too (?).

Last year was a great turn out. This year should be too. Prob even more so.

ps... I'm on the flyer too

Ah! Now it all makes sense. Well, let's just coordinate better so people aren't leaving before the bills are paid. As far as car count, obviously I'm in. Monique, are you gonna be in a rotary engine car or will that M3 be yours by then?

Early I know...This may sound kind of elongated but last year I met about 15 other cars in picayune and then we went to Slidell to meet with about 50 cars and then we went to NO. Would all of us gulf coast folks be up for that? Adds a little more cruising to the idea and we progressively get more and more cars to cruise with

Or maybe we could just have the groups coordinate to all meet in Slidell as opposed to going roundabout through picayune? (Just gulf coast meet at Waveland sonic and then met everyone in slidell for an awesome cruise to the lake front.)

Last edited by JStrib; Feb 25, 2008 at 03:17 PM. Reason: Adding second optionish...

OK awesome! Just spread the word to meet at Waveland Sonic for 9:30. That should be plenty of time for the cruising and meeting with others, etc.
